Mental Health First Aid for churches and Christian organisations

This event is being offered by one of the Living Leadership Associates, Dave Burke, in partnership with Living Leadership.

We are keenly aware that mental health is important. But if we want to support people really well, we need evidence-based, accurate, knowledge and skills. The Adult Mental Health First Aid course will equip you with these.

Every church should have at least one person with a MHFA qualification.

During 16 hours of study, face-to-face or online, you will gain a thorough understanding of what good mental health looks like and how to maintain it, the factors that affect our mental health, and a detailed grasp of the main diagnoses we encounter in those we seek to support. How to offer appropriate and effective support is a theme of the course all the way through.

In addition, we will take time to reflect on some biblical material and the light it throws on the care we offer in our churches and Christian organisations.

The course will consist of four online sessions with some self-directed online learning in between. 

The live online sessions will be from 14.00 to 16.30 on these dates:

Monday May 17th, Thursday May 20th, Monday May 24th and Thursday May 27th.

MHFA is an internationally recognised qualification, instructor training is regulated by the Royal Society for Public Health and accredited by Mental Health First Aid England.

Cost:

The RRP of this course is £300 for most organisations but Dave is providing this course at an amazing discount for pastorally active people in churches and Christian organisations. 

It is a tradition in Living Leadership to have a pay what you can approach to our events (and to offer three pricing tiers) so everyone can access the event, so Dave has generously provided the following offers. These range from covering just the essential materials to including a contribution to cover Dave's time and support his ongoing ministry.

For the MHFA course Dave is offering:

1. £30.00 - This just covers the cost of the course manual and materials and postage
2. £75.00 - This covers more of the cost to Dave, such as compensating him for some of the time he spends preparing and delivering the course
3. £95.00 - This would help Dave even more to cover his costs and support his ministry further
