Caring for those with life-controlling behaviours - A Ministry Masterclass

The masterclass will help you think through: 

• Meeting Christ in the mess of life-controlling addictive behaviours.
• How to break down the "us and them" divide in church; forming bridges of grace, love and mercy
• People who come to a recovery meeting at a local church
• A biblical model of recovery groups, including what is available in the UK
• A bit more about how their charity Free! Recovery has worked

This Ministry Masterclass is being led by John and Sally Childress PhD. God has radically transformed John and Sally's lives as he has led them to walk alongside those with addictive, life-controlling issues in the UK and abroad.

John comes from Anaheim, California and Sally from here in the UK. They met as a missionary working in the US. John is the author of The Addict’s Choices: from depths of isolation to heights of true deliverance; a candid look at addictions through his own story. They now live in Somerset, where they run the charity Free! Recovery.  

Free! Recovery is a small team of compassionate Christian workers, reaching out to people struggling with life-controlling issues - from the really addicted gambler, alcohol or drug user to those trapped in porn, eating issues, self-harm and everything in between.

Free! Recovery provides biblically based, Christ-centered resources. Its well-tested, 10-session course is rooted in the book of Galatians, helping participants explore and find freedom and relief in Christ Jesus.
